Only a couple of snags- had to add the drain for my art studio sink and change the tub to a center drain, but it is done now. Mike says the next thing is digging forms for the concrete beams that are below the poured foundation, placed in strategic lines for additional support. Plus, he needs to get electricity to the well house so he can put pressure on the pipes while digging the beams furrows, in case he hits one...better to know sooner rather than later. I agree!
Then, they will build forms to adjust to where the rock meets the wood flooring. Glenn nixed Tonya's wavy river idea of rock meeting wood. Says since we moved the house a couple more degrees (apparently he reads this blog...Doh!!) we really need the entire back wall to have rock flooring in order to maximize the winter sun's radiant heating effect. Mike is SOOO happy about that.
Then....he will put the rebar and electrical conduits to the kitchen island and chair area by the heart and be good to pour the concrete. Simple!!!
My parents had their 60th wedding anniversary party this weekend. It's not actually until July 2nd, but we had it sooner so it wouldn't be too hot. Weather was actually very nice. What a treat to see so many family members together. We had about 60 of the 78 in the immediate family. That's what happens when you start by having 11 children. It was very, very nice.
