Six days to clear rock and dirt from 95% of the house site and another six days to get the last 5%. The rock saw worked to cut 4 inch chunks of hard rock from the garage corner in the front of the house. They finally got it down to the level of the foundation on Friday. Today (yes, working on a Sunday!) Mike and Robert measured off the edges of the house to make places for the pier driller to get started on Monday.
I also met with the newest member of the Big Hill Village, Tonya, my friend and now interior designer (photo to come). Can I tell you how hootie-tootie I feel saying that?

Rita called tonight to get my travel plans for the week. I know she will make sure Chris feeds my cats and gets my mail. They are the closest thing I have to direct family here- as in the kind that take care of practical things while you are gone.
I worked in the yard today here on the Little House on Grace. I found two blue bonnet plants growing! It seemed so genteel to be weeding and cleaning such a quaint and tiny yard. A far cry from the branch hauling and chain-sawing I did yesterday on Big Hill. Both FUN.
Building might be fun, I like seeing the progress, even slow progress.
